From the sources, statistics reveals that only 5738 candidates had been appeared in PCS Main written Examination 2012 which was held from December, 20 2012 to January 18, 2013.List of Candidates who have qualified for Interview in Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (main) Exam 2012 is available on the UPPSC website.

PCS Main Written examination consists of the following compulsory and optional subjects. The candidates had to select any two subjects from the list of optional subjects for main examination. Each optional subject will consist of two papers.
