About Tamil Nadu Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC): The Government of Tamil Nadu have constituted a new Board for School Examination viz “Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination” by merging the existing two separate boards (1) Board of Secondary Education and (2) Board of Higher Secondary Examinations vide G.O.1(D) No. 142 School Education(V1) Department Dated 9-8-2002.The Directorate of Government Examinations was formed as a separate directorate in Feb.1975. Prior to the formation of Directorate Of Government Examinations, the then DPI/DSE was the ex-officio commissioner for Govt. exams and the department was having its office at Madras only.
