Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued notification for the conducting Geologists Examination 2013for recruitment of the 147 vacancies of Geologist, Assistant Geologist, Jr. Hydro geologist, Assistant Hydro geologist posts. UPSC Geologist Exam Vacancies details :

Category I :
1. Geologist, Group ‘A’ : 50 Posts
2. Assistant Geologist Grade I Group ‘B’ : 25 Posts
Category II :
1. Junior Hydro geologists (Scientist B) Group ‘A’ : 33 Posts
2. Assistant Hydro geologists Group ‘B’ : 39 Posts
Eligibility Criteria :
Age Limit : Candidates age limit should be between 21 years and 32 years for Category I Posts and 21-35 years for Jr Hydrogeologists Post and 21-30 years for Assistant Hydrogeologists posts. Age limit should be reckoned as on 01-08-2013. Age relaxation will be applicable as per the rules.
Educational Qualification : Candidates must be done Master’s Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration for Category I Posts, Masters Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a university, Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology from a recognised university for Category II Posts.
Application Fee :
1. General/OBC Candidates Need to Pay Rs. 200/-.
2. SC/ST/Female/PH candidates are exempted from payment of fee.
Mode of Selection : Candidates would be selected based on their performance in written examination and interview.
