Fellowships up to the pre-Ph.D. level to the selected KVPY Fellows, KVPY Results, KVPY Admit Card, Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, KVPY will award Fellowships in Basic Sciences by the Dept. of Science and Technology, Government of India, to motivate students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science. Online application to 2013 will start from 14-07-2013 at www.kvpy.org.in.

The selection of KVPY Fellowship students is made from those studying in XI standard to 1st year in any undergraduate Program in Natural and Basic Sciences namely B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. having aptitude for scientific research. KVPY Fellowship selection based on the performance in the aptitude test, short-listed students are invited for an interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure. For receiving KVPY Fellowship, both aptitude test and interview marks are considered.

Who is eligible to KVPY Fellowship?
Students from Basic Sciences
Stream SA: The students enrolled in the XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2013-14 and having secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.

Stream SX: Students enrolled in XII Standard/ (+2) (Science subjects) during the academic year 2013–14 and aspiring to join an undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) for the session 2014–15 provided they have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Mathematics) in the X Standard Board Examination.

Stream SB: Students enrolled in the 1st year of B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. during the academic year 2013–14 and having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Mathematics) in the XII Standard Board Examination.

KVPY does not allow its Fellows to receive simultaneously fellowship /scholarship from more than one source, either government or private. In case they are in receipt of any other fellowship or scholarship, they will have to relinquish it in order to avail the KVPY Fellowship.

Selection Procedure of KVPY Fellowship

KVPY Fellowship Aptitude Test: After scrutiny of application forms and meeting the eligibility criteria for various streams, all eligible students will be called for a written aptitude test conducted both in Hindi and English at different centers across the country on Sunday, the 27th October 2013. The details of the venue of the aptitude test for the eligible students and their seat number will be published in the KVPY website during the first week of October 2013.

KVPY Fellowship Interview: Based on the performance in the aptitude test, short-listed students will be asked to appear for an interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure.

What is the syllabus for the KVPY Fellowship written test?

There is no prescribed syllabus for the written test. The written test aims to test the understanding and analytical ability of the student than his/her factual document. However, students are tested for the for the syllabus up to class XII/1st yr B.Sc./B.S./ B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.

KVPY Fellowship written test Admit Card

Students who have applied online may download the admit card for the aptitude test from the website from the second week of October 2013. For students who have applied with a hard copy, admit card will be sent by speed post.

The amount of KVPY Fellowship

SA (After XI Class) Rs. 4000(Monthly Fellowship) and Rs. 16000 (Annual Contingency Grant)

SX /SB - during 1st to 3rd years of - B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math. / Integrated M.Sc. /M.S. Rs. 5000(Monthly Fellowship) and Rs. 20000 (Annual Contingency Grant)

SX /SB - during M. Sc. / 4th to 5th years of Integrated M.Sc. /M.S Rs. 7000 (Monthly Fellowship) and Rs. 28000 (Annual Contingency Grant)

Renewal/Continuation of KVPY Fellowship

Annual renewal of fellowships will depend on the KVPY Fellows maintaining a good academic performance of first class (60% marks) or equivalent grade point average in science subjects in aggregate in each academic year in the first attempt.

KVPY Fellowship online applications

Students may apply either by hard copy or Online application in www.kvpy.org.in. Those who are unable to apply online may request for a hard Copy. A hard copy of the application form can be obtained from KVPY on request on a plain paper enclosing the paid “Bank Challan / Pay-in-slip” clearly indicating the stream SA/SX/SB on the envelope. Processing Fee: An application fee is Rs. 500/-. The Processing fee is exempted for the SC/ST community and Persons With Disability category of students.
