Union Public Service Commission has successfully conducted UPSC Preliminary Examination 2014 on 24.08.2014 throughout India following Hon’ble Supreme Court refuses to stay the UPSC Prelims 2014.

As per the news sources, as many as 9 lakh Candidates have applied for UPSC Civil Services Examination under CSPE-2014 system. Approximate Number of Vacancies which are to be filled up based on UPSC Civil Services Examination 2014 will be around 1300.

CSPE 2014 consists of Two papers for 200 Marks. As per the recent notification issued by Government, English Comprehension Questions will not be valued and there for marks scored by Candidates in UPSC Preliminary Paper II with respect to English Comprehension Questions will not be taken into account.

UPSC Civil Services preliminary Examination 2014 is conducted to recruit candidates in Class I Posts / Group A Posts in Central / State Government Departments. Candidates selected after successfully clearing UPSC Civil Services Preliminary, Mains and Interview will be posted in the following services

(i) Indian Administrative Service.

(ii) Indian Foreign Service.

(iii) Indian Police Service.

(iv) Indian P & T Accounts & Finance Service, Group ‘A’.

Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2014 recruitment in Union Public Service Commission [Including SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course]

A Combined Defence Services Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 26th October, 2014 for admission to the under mentioned courses.

(i)	For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy	Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
(ii)	For Indian Naval Academy	Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/ Institution.
(iii)	For Air Force Academy	Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Note: Graduates with first choice as Army/Navy/Air Force are to submit proof of graduation provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB. Candidates who are studying in the final year Degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination to reach the Army HQ/Rtg. CDSE Entry, West Block III, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066 in case of IMA/SSC first choice candidates and Naval HQ “DMPR”, (OI & R Section) Room No. 204,‘C’ Wing, Sena Bhawan, New Delhi- 110011 in case of Navy first choice candidatesand PO3(A)/Air Headquarters,‘J’Block, Room No. 17, Opp. Vayu Bhawan, Motilal Nehru Marg, New Delhi-110011 incase of Air Force first choice candidates by the following dates failing which their candidature will stand cancelled : (i) For admission to IMA, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy on or before 13th May, 2014. (ii) For admission to Officer’s Training Academy, Chennai on or before 1st August, 2014. Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognised by government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees would also be eligible for admission to the examination.

Physical Standards : Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2014

Fee : Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
