CPT Exam Form

CPT Exam Form

CPT Exam is held twice a year in the month of June and December and ICAI has announced that the next Common Proficiency Test December 2013 Attempt is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 15th Dec 2013. The CPT Exam December 2013 Attempt would consist of 4 Papers scheduled to be conducted in 2 Sessions of 2 Papers at the following timings


Particulars First Session (10:30 AM to 12:30 PM) Second Session (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
Subjects Fundamentals of Accounting General Economics
Mercantile Laws Quantitative Aptitude


CPT Exam Form
The Exam Form for Common Proficiency Test Dec 2013 Attempt would be available from 7th October 2013 (10:00 AM) onwards and the last date of submission of the same is 28th October 2013 (05:30 PM). There is no provision for submitting the exam forms after 28th October with late fee and only those applications received till 28th October 2013 would be eligible to appear for December 2013 Exams.

All Students who have appeared/cleared Class XII Exams and have registered as a CPT Student with ICAI on or before 1st October 2013 and fulfill all the requisite conditions are eligible to appear for Common Proficiency Test Dec 2013 Attempt.

Procedure for CPT Registration

Students desirous of appearing for Common Profiency Test scheduled to be held in December 2013 are required to obtain the Exam Form from the various branches of ICAI on payment of Rs.1000 (Rs. 500 towards Examination Fee and Rs. 500 for the cost of the Exam Form)

Students interested of appearing for CPT Exam Dec 2013 Attempt can also apply for the same online. Students availing the facility for submitting the Exam Form online only need to pay Rs. 500 towards the Examination Fees. They are exempted from paying Rs. 500 for the Cost of the Exam Form and thus Students availing the facility for online submission of Exam Form can avail an exemption from paying Rs. 500 towards the Cost of the Exam Form.

CPT Admit Cards are released 21 days before the Common Proficiency Test Exam Date and can also be downloaded online.

CPT Results are announced in the month of July for June Exams and in the month of January for December Exams.

ICAI has also extended the facility of downloading the CPT Result Card online. The CPT Result card can be downloaded after 10 days of the announcement of result from the website -

In case you have forgotten your CPT Exam Roll. No. of June 2013 Exam which was held on 16th June, you can always retrieve your Admit Card from the Internet.

To download the CPT Result Cards, Candidates will have to input their:-

Roll No. or Student Registration No. and Personal Identification No. (PIN No.) i.e. the 4 digit no. of the Candidate’s choice, enterred by him/her in his exam application form

It may be noted that the first three characters in the CPT Registration Number are alphabets and the balance seven are numerals. Hence, while entering the student registration number, do not type “O” (alphabet “O”) in the place of “0” (zero) or vice versa. For example, while typing WRO 0123456, do not enter WR0 O123456 or WRO O123456.

Students who are unsatisfied with the marks awarded to them in the CPT Result June 2013 can also apply for Revaluation of Marks by submitting a handwriten application for the same to ICAI along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 200 drawn in favor of “The Secretary, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India” payable at “New Delhi”

Check CPT Result June 2013 by SMS & Email

Students can also check their CPT Result of June 2013 by SMS. To enrol for the SMS facility, a student shall first register himself for availing the Result by SMS facility. A Student desirous of receiving the Results by SMS shall send

CACPT(space)XXXXXX (where XXXXXX is the Roll No. of the Candidate)

The above message shall be sent to 58888. This Service would be active from 11th July 2013 onwards

ICAI has also extended the facility of checking the CPT Results June 2013 by Email. Students interested in receiving their June 2013 CPT Results by Email shall register on the above mentioned website where the CPT Results would be announced.

CPT Results would be announced simultaneously along with the CA Final Results. For CA Final, Ranks would be awarded to Top 50 Candidates securing a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate and having cleared all the Individual Exams.

Pass Percentage of CPT
The Pass Percentgae of CPT Exams is approximately 25-30% i.e. if 100 Students appear for CPT Exam, only 25-30 Students clear the Exam. In December 2012, 111961 Students had appeared for CPT, out of which 30305 Students clared the CPT Exams with the topper – Sai Brahma Teja Madala scoring 97.00% Marks

CPT Result Cards
Results Cards are normally sent by post to the physical address of the student after the declaration of CPT Result. However, with effect from December 2012 Attempt, these Result Cards would also be hosted online in addition to despatching the Result Cards by post. You can download these Result Cards after the declaration of Results from: here : CLICK HERE

The Results Card hosted online on the above mentioned website would contain the photograph and the signature of the candidate and would be eligible for Registration to the next level in CA Course i.e. CA Intermediate.

CA Intermediate Registration

Students who have been declared as passed in the CPT Result June 2013 are required to register themselves for Intermediate (IPCC) which is the next level after CPT. The Registration for Intermediate is not automatic and students are required to register themselves for the same before 1st September to be eligible to appear in May 2014 Exams
