2. Research Associates: 02posts
Qualification: i) A Post-Graduate degree in Population Studies/Women Studies/Sociology/Economics ii) At least 3 years in conducting field level research studies, data collection analysis and report preparation

3. Research Assistant: 02posts
Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Women’s Studies/Social Sciences/Computer Science with 2 years Research experience in Women Development Projects

4. Data Entry Operator: 01post
Qualification: i) BCA/B.Sc. Computer Science/B.Sc.(IT) (or) ii) Any Degree with Computer Application (or) iii) Any Degree with Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA) iv) Should have a speed not less than 8000 key depressions per hour for data entry work (or) typewriting English Lowe

Qualification: i) A Bachelor’s degree of a recognized University ii) Typewriting higher grade in Tamil and English iii) Knowledge of Tamil to extent of carrying official correspondence and drafting reports

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with certificate in Library Science

7. Attendant: 01post
Qualification: i) Minimum general Educational Qualification. i.e. High secondary ii) Knowledge of Tamil iii) Knowledge of Typewriting (Tamil & English)

The Postgraduate Centre of the University of Madras, which was functioning in Coimbatore before 1982 formed the core of the Bharathiar University. In May, 1985 the University received the recognition from University Grants Commission (UGC) New Delhi for the purpose of grants.
The University named after the great national poet Subramania Bharathi is enshrined with the motto “Educate to Elevate”. In the University, every effort is harnessed to realize his dream of making educational institutions as temple of learning. It is the aim of the University to participate in the task of inculcating necessary Knowledge, Skills and Creative Attitudes and values among the youth of the country to contribute more effectively towards establishing an equitable social and economic and secular ideal of our nation.

Candidates are also apply for revaluation / re-totalling. Applications for the same should be collected from Controller of Examinations, School of Distance Education – Exam Section, Bharathiar University, by sending a self-addressed envelope bearing a stamp of Rs.10, or can be downloaded from the website www.b-u.ac.in.

At the end of each semester, the University conducts regular examinations for UG, PG and M.Phil. programmes. The students who have earned 75 percent of the attendance in each semester are permitted to appear for the University examinations. To qualify for a pass, a student should secure a minimum 50% marks in the examination, in case of PG and M.Phil. Exams and 40% in case of UG programme. Double valuation is followed for all PG programmes and M.Phil. In case, the difference between the marks awarded in the first and the second evaluation exceeds 14 marks, then the paper is referred to a third examiner. The examination wing is fully computerised to maintain confidentiality and ensure quick services.
