Himachal board of education came into existence in 1969. The main function of this board is to prescribe syllabus, courses of instruction, and text books and also to conduct examinations for school education in Himachal Pradesh. At present the board conducts examination for both 10th and 12th. Every year, approximately 5 lakh candidates sit for the examination. Presently more than 8000 schools are affiliated with this board. Adding on, the board has also established 1650 examination centers all over the state and it also publishes text books from class 1st to class 12th.
The date sheet for 2014 examinations have been released and students can avail it on the official website http://www.hpbose.org/datesheet .aspx . Students can download the required information from the website and also the time table for the examinations. Usually the examinations are conducted in the month of January.
